BABBLERS PRESS - Those who work hard in life tend to be "better off" financially according to a ground-breaking new study of eight people over a period of two months.
Lead researcher for the Institute of Obvious Facts (IOF) Bob Wilberforce said they had suspected a link for "quite some time" but this is the first time they've ever been able to confirm their suspicions scientifically. "What we found is that those who spent most of their time on the couch watching TV or thumbing texts on their smart phones were experiencing money problems," he said. "And those who didn't work at paying jobs were virtually poor." On the flip side, Dr. Wilberforce said those who did work at paying jobs "generally speaking were in a better place financially." "Basically, the workers had more money," said Wilberforce. "They didn't always spend it wisely but at least they had money to waste on junk they didn't need. But those who refused to work, or were slack in looking for work, had nothing to show for their lack of effort except a pile of unpaid bills." Wilberforce added that they are currently working on another study to examine the supposed link between poor financial management, stress and substance abuse.
